Navy Wives Dixie 300

December 22nd, 2011

Doug

The Navy Wives brought their bottles by the studio today. They were excited to have a tour and preview of our test wall and model. Each of these contributions are important building blocks for the project. Yes we are making progress one bottle at a time. Thank you for making the effort over the busy holidays to remember the troops!

Girl Scout Troop 103

December 19th, 2011

Doug

The gang from Girl Scout Troop 103 came by the studio today to drop off their bottles. It’s great to see the kids involved in the project, and it turns out that the children are our greatest supporters. I could see that each bottle was prepared with care and effort. Thanks ladies for a nice bunch of bottles…they will make a great addition to the wall.

We received this super cool card from the girls…made my day. I love these!

Blue Cross Blue Shield

December 16th, 2011

Doug

We were contacted by Blue Cross to provide bottles for a corporate event. BCBS has a beautiful campus on the Southside and it was the first time that I ventured over there. We provided over 400 empty bottles and the project was a big hit. Many thanks to BCBS for supporting our community and the troops.

Over 1000

November 20th, 2011

Doug

We finally made it over 1000 bottles thanks to Ms. Hogan and the great kids at Mandarin Middle School. It took almost 18 days to get this far. Things seem to be getting off to a slow start but we are building momentum. Dorian was at the Haskell Company during lunch time this week explaining the project. We are encouraged with the reception at the schools and the support of the teachers. This week is Thanksgiving and we all have much to be thankful for. Since this project is about gratitude, I hope that all of us have a chance to slow down for a moment to reflect on what we are thankful for.

Timberlin Creek Elementary

November 10th, 2011

Doug

Ms. Lane’s 2nd grade class at Timberlin Creek Elementary in St. John’s Country provided 110 messages in bottles that we just posted to the site. We enjoyed going through the very thoughtful drawings and words. A few gave us a big smile! I hope that the children can challenge all of the adults out there to turn in bottles. Kids are amazing.

St. Joseph’s Catholic School

November 4th, 2011

Doug

We set up a test group at St. Joseph’s Catholic School a few weeks ago and they came through in a very BIG way. 540 bottles and messages! A big thanks goes out to Judy Toth, our very good friend and a very wonderful teacher at the school, for organizing a school-wide effort. You will be the model school for the project and a goal for everyone else to reach and try to exceed. We’re excited and grateful.
